The records document Consumers' Research's testing, research, and projects concerning household lamps, lightbulbs, and illumination. Included are correspondence, notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, photographs, lightbulb packages, product literature, test results, operating manuals, advertisements, and purchase orders. Subjects include table lamps, small lamps, Christmas tree lights, kerosene lamps, lamps used for scientific purposes, flashlights, light switches, light cords, interior illumination, artificial light, utilities "propaganda" for the use of more light (1935), incandescent and electric lamps, and fluorescent lightbulbs.
